Written by Igbo Focus 14 th March 2025 What might have prompted Nigeria Government in freezing Mazi Simpon Ekpa’s bank account and others? According to Nigeria Government, they are freezing Simon Ekpa’s and others people’s bank accounts due to terrorism financing. Few months ago, Nigeria Government told us that they have told Finish Government to repatriate Simpon Ekpa back to Nigeria, even though that Simon Ekpa is now Finish and Biafran citizen. According to them, Simon Ekpa is in Finish custody, if he is in Finish prison why is it so important that Nigeria Government is bent on fighting tooth and nail to get someone already in prison to be repatriated to Nigeria – perhaps so that they can use their debase court and devious judges to keep him locked up or use their continuous trial delaying tactics to keep him locked up like Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Freezing Simpon Ekpa’s bank account who is already in prison - that’s according to them, then is an indirect way of telling us that Simpon Ekpa will win the case in Finland and will not be repatriated back to Nigeria. Conceivably Simpon Ekpa might not even be arrested other than Finish Government keeping him away from all Biafran activities whilst they are still making investigations. Using “entrapment” is a foolish method of an unethical government to use in order to criminalise anybody they want to confine. Accordingly, Nigeria and Enugu State government using public or tax payers millions pretending to donate to Biafra Government in Exile thorough a dodger finance minister they managed to infiltrate into Biafra Government in Exile. Thereby linking prime minister Simpon Ekpa of financing terrorism because the finance minister, Nigeria and Enugu State government are working hand in hand to criminalise Biafra Government in Exile. The same finance minister is the one claiming that he is now the deputy prime minister and not Dr. Ngozi Orabueze. They have managed to divide the group into two, one being United States of Biafra headed by Dr. Ngozi Orabueze and the other being Biafra Government in Exile head by the so called “finance minister.” The same finance minister who claimed to be deputy prime minister is comparatively creating a big embarrassment for Biafrans. When you listen to him talk, he talks like a complete idiot, he thought Biafra is like Nigeria where any corrupt riffraff can be president or finance minister. I was once listening to his group where they described Biafra Government in Exile as still pregnant, waiting to give birth to United States of Biafra. According to them, United States of Biafra is yet to be born. Despite the fact that they were there during the declaration of United States of Biafra. Though the finance minister that day during the declaration said we came there today to do “photoshop.” It doesn’t worth it writing about the finance minister and his group. By blacklisting and freezing the accounts of Prime Minister Simon Ekpa, the administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, steered by Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Ojukwu and Igbo Political elites, has unwittingly revealed the collapse of its extradition bid against Simon in Finland. The logic is irrefutable: why freeze the assets of a man already detained at your behest, stripped of access to his finances? Before Ekpa’s arrest in Finland, Nigeria had ample opportunity to impose such measures, yet refrained. Recall that this same government, long dominated by Fulani interests, branded Ekpa a wanted terrorist last year, alleging he funded such activities. Standard procedure would have dictated an immediate Post-No- Debit order from the Attorney General, compelling financial institutions to freeze his assets, report compliance, and flag suspicious transactions to the NFIU. No such steps were taken then. Now, with Ekpa under Finnish custody—prompted by Nigeria’s own petition—the belated move to freeze his accounts betrays a stark truth: the Finnish authorities have rebuffed Nigeria’s case. The realization has evidently sunk in that Ekpa will not be extradited, and his release may be imminent. This desperate act of account freezing is but the final gasp of a floundering regime, a futile clutch at control as defeat looms large.. Simon Ekpa has triumphed in Finland, proving that resilience on the path of justice prevails. Biafrans, let us rejoice for our victory over Nigeria is reaffirmed. Finland is not Kenya. At this juncture I urge all steadfast Biafrans to temper their criticism of President Alexander Stubb and his government, for this development suggests the Finnish authorities stands apart from Nigeria’s faltering sway.
