How Some Nigerians Are Thrilled that Simon Ekpa was Arrested in Finland

Written by Igbo Focus 27th November 2024 It was so much excitement to most Nigerians to hear that Mazi Simon Ekpa had been arrested. The social media and newspapers were awash with the news of his detention in Finland. What is more, days before the aspiring arrest, Simon Ekpa had said “write everything under the earth about me and give it to Nigerian Newspaper, they will publish it without any form of investigation.” To hear of his arrest, most newspaper and social media just jump to it exactly the same way he said it would happen, no formal research or investigation; which left one of his associates saying “disregard all the publications about Ekpa, are you not surprised that all Nigerian media had been given the same topics to publish.” Now, this is the plan: Just a few days before the episode of Simon Ekpa arrest, a group of four Nigerian men said they have landed at Finland airport, showing us photo of the airport claiming that they came to Finland to attack Simon Ekpa. Soon after that, there was no sign of Simon Ekpa but then, soon after that the social media and press were awash that Simon Ekpa and others were arrested. Consequently, these men from Nigeria must have gone to the local police station to lodge complain against Simon Ekpa. Now in a civilised world apart from Nigeria and some other countries, when anybody makes a complain, it doesn’t matter who you are, whether the president, MP, fishman or farmer, the police will invite the person to come and give his/her own account. Once the person goes to the police station to give account of what happen or his own side of the story, to Nigeria press and government, the person has been arrested. In this case, these men and Nigerian government have already written article to issue to the press that Simon Ekpa had been arrested should he attend the police to explain or answer queries. As I mentioned before, there is no where in the world that police will jail anyone apart from those police in corrupt nations like Nigeria. Police will only prepare cases for their governments with evidence to prosecute those they assume may be guilty of the crimes. Police will not send you to prison but will keep you in the police cell for a day or so until court decide when you case will be rule on by the judge sentencing you to a prison. The only way judge can send you to prison before a trail is only if judge see that your case is too dangerous to allow you out on bail, or the surety is not met. Even then, the judge may take away your passport or have you reporting to the police station every now and then until your case comes up. In some cases, some people may get a tag to have them stay in their house, should they step out of their houses, the tag will ring or buzz at police station to say the person has gone and the police should look for him/her. So Finnish Authority has given Nigerian government until March 2025 to submit all evidence they have on Simon Ekpa being a terrorist. As I heard, with all things about Nigeria, they are offering Finnish government 60 years of free oil to Finland should they extradite Simon Ekpa to Nigeria. Nigeria government keep on saying people are damaging their reputation abroad but they are the one doing it using termism to fight those oppose to their agenda or protesting against them. Most people have been saying that Simon Ekpa is working for Nigeria government to destabilise southeast. Even so, the same Nigeria government that Simon Ekpa is working for, is the one behind his arrest, even supposed witness to Finland. Almost 5 years to 6 years ago, governors, politicians were all blaming IPOB and its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (MNK) for all the killings in the Southeast. There was python dance upon python dance by Nigeria soldiers. Soldiers will come to the village and open fire killing everything on sight. Sometimes soldiers will go to a village and burn the whole village down. When all things considered, innocent people are being killed, nothing said or done about it by the government. Just recently, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State came out to announce that IPOB is blameless of everything, they are not the ones doing the killings of innocent people but the politicians. Look how long it took him to announce that IPOB members are not the offender after many years of killing IPOB or people with Biafran flags. They have started the same thing with Simon Ekpa that he is the one ordering the killing of Nigerians from Finland. All they intend to do now is to lie against Simon Ekpa, do to him the same Nigeria fraudulent jungle legal system, similarity to the one they meted out to MNK and to them, this will to ensure that nobody will talk about Biafra again whilst politicians have their way in the Southeast. Just a few days ago I heard that Nigerian army has been out of control with their road blocks, blockading roads in the Southeast whilst extorting money with guns. The report goes on as reporting that the military and police go as far as breaking people‘s houses climbing through the roof while the people were sleeping at night roughly by 1am in the morning and kidnap people without any court order. Having the status, they will kidnap people for ransoms. As for the military, they will kidnap people, in most cases to kill them and harvest their organs. The people in question here are Nigerian military and if they had been civilians, it would have been Simon Ekpa that they would have blamed that knowingly sent them to people’s houses from Finland to kidnap them.
