Written by Igbo Focus|13th August 2023The judges (Justice Haruna Tsammani, Stephen Adah, Boloukuoromo Ugoh, Misitura Bolaji-Yusuf and Abba Mohammed) are still wasting time deciding on a clear-cut presidential election case. With all the evidence, they can see that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not even fit to stand for presidential election talk less of winning it, ruthless INEC just selected, rigged him in to call him the winner. These people have short memory, and they want us to have short memory too in order to forget what happened a few months ago. They don’t realise the damage they are causing to Nigerians by letting everyone to hang on waiting for them on a simple case. The more Nigeria hangs on, the more damages are being caused by this illegitimate government. I saw news by the BBC, I don’t know if the news is real or not, but on that news was President Joe Biden mocking Nigeria saying that “Nigerians their president has been dead for 6 years and he is still ruling them.” Very soon, foreigners will be using Bola Ahmed Tinubu, INEC and the judiciary to be mocking Nigerians. At that moment, they will realise the amount of damage they have done to themselves, Nigerians and there will be no amount of passport colour cover that will cover up that shame. During the 90s of Obasanjo’s presidential election, Obasanjo got 25% votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) subsequently, Olusegun Obasanjo became the president. As well as the election of President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua who got 25% of the votes in FCT to become the president. Likewise, President Goodluck Jonathan got 25% of the votes in FCT to become the president. The same as during the election of Jonathan and Buhari presidential election, Buhari obtained 25% of the votes in FCT, accordingly, Muhammadu Buhari became the president.Whilst during the last February 2023 presidential election; Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not procure the 25% of the votes in FCT but Peter Obi did get the 25% of the votes. Therefore, Peter Obi procured the 25% of the votes required in FCT to win and as he also attained other conditions, Peter Obi should have been announced the winner of that election by INEC although judges may be blind to see this fact.We all know that Peter Obi won that election by landslide. Even other African countries can see it. Democracy is not only by mouth alone but by action. Look at what happened yesterday after Peter Obi urged for dialogue and peaceful means of resolving the political crisis in Niger Republic, the Niger Republic coup leader, General Tchiani has agreed to dialogue with the ECOWAS.African countries are looking up to Nigeria and curiously waiting to see what Nigerian judiciary will do in the presidential election case. Despite the fact that the judiciary don’t like to hear “all eyes on the judiciary” even if it is placed in front of them. The judiciary is worried about the billboard placed near the appeals court suggesting to them that the public is watching. Judges are worried about the poster outside the court proclaiming “all eyes on the judiciary” and seeking for it to be removed. What is more, resulting in One Million March Crew issuing a press release that: “Information reaching us is that the federal government, national assembly leadership, and the judiciary are in cahoots and threatening to bring down the billboard mounted by well-meaning Nigerians. The said billboard is located close to the Court of Appeal. This can only be interpreted as an attempt to subvert justice and the people's will.Let it be known that due process was followed to obtain necessary permissions for the said billboard, and it only carries a message calling on the judiciary to do the right thing, while bringing public awareness to the ongoing presidential election petition tribunal.”And we furthermore were acquainted how Asari Dokubo brought his gang to Abuja claiming to be protesting and fighting for Bola Ahmed Tinubu after visiting Tinubu at the presidential villa. Without hesitation, APC is claiming it was Labour Party causing the nuisance instead of them which led Labour Party to put across a press release which read: “The attention of the Labour Party has been drawn to yet another desperate effort by the drowning ruling party to label it negatively in its desire to create disorder and tumultuous situations to validate its stolen mandate.Claiming that the Labour Party supporters are threatening the Presidential Election Petition Court PEPC, Justice is the height of the ruling party’s attempt to pass off blame via their orchestrated trolling efforts. This most recent ploy, a photograph purportedly showing a PEPC judge and some children, is sleekly designed to distract from APC’s open intimidating remarks by their counsels directed at the PEPC Justices to the effect that there will be anarchy if the PEPC rules against their client. The record should show incontrovertibly that it was they who promised anarchy if Tinubu is removed: only to turn around and invoke anarchy via war threats on the Niger Republic in the hope that Tinubu will not be legally removed.Labour Party having presented its case concretely and vividly within the law, remain very confident that the justices will fulfil their statutory responsibilities based on the law and weight of evidence. As such LP did not need any threat, to secure the delivery of substantive justice. It is increasingly evident that the ruling party is afraid of its shadow and the truth and is as busy fabricating and labelling the Labour Party to curry imaginary favour. The discerning public should disregard this dubious label of LP because they know who is panicking and trying to create anarchy in the land to remain in power at all costs. We, therefore, wish to reiterate our belief in the sanctity of our jurisprudence and expect that justice will be served based on nothing short of what the Constitution and extant law says and not via the troll mechanism or devious acts of the ruling party that is desperate to cling to power without the People’s mandate.Signed by Obiora Ifoh, National Publicity Secretary, LABOUR PARTY.”All Eyes on the Judiciary
