The IPOB leader was kidnapped when he travelled from the UK to Kenya last year and renditioned to Nigeria for requesting for seeking referendum, by arguing that Federal Government must conduct referendum to seek for the number of those really want to be or not to Nigeria.Self-determination or agitation for Biafra would not require prosecution but according to the Federal Government especially as President Buhari is onboard, anybody who challenges the government should be prosecuted and jailed. Thus, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested for the above reasons and with multitude of other fabricated charges.Even with all the charges, the appeal court in Nigeria acquitted Nnamdi Kanu of all charges but FG declined the order to release him, even more so, adding additional charges in order to take him to a different court.According to Nnamdi Kanu’s legal counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, the appeal court in the UK has listed to hear Nnamdi Kanu’s case on 22nd of June 2023, appreciations go to Kanu’s family and my colleagues, the Bindmans.
