Enugu is not known for pipeline attacks but as this is coming from a new militant group; it cannot be ruled out that Biafra land will soon experience intense militant actions. Prior to this attack; Niger Delta Avengers and the compromised MEND had cast vote of no confidence on Nigeria Government and promised intense attack.

According to their initial tweet “We achieved success at 3:30am this date 11 of January 2017. Delivery pipeline at Ihuona village in Ugbawka town was bombed, confirm it!” in a clear move for publicity; they urged for investigation.
They further tweeted “Kudos to our brothers that have been doing us proud; we won’t fail anyone” listing their reasons , they mailed “ We want the immediate and unconditional release of all the freedom fights including Nnamdi Kanu, total freedom for Biafra which Effiong our father fought for. We will make our full list public when we have done enough; Old Eastern region is our focus; no flow of oil in Biafra land until our major demands are met”
The group further promised attack in Anambra, Imo, Abia, and on all the pipeline installations in Biafra land to ensure zero flow of crude oil and refined crude. They posited that militancy will saturate Biafra land until Nnamdi Kanu is released and a way forward established. Indicating that the reason to start with Enugu is to pass a clear message that no part of Biafra land will be spared and the aim is to make sure Buhari sheds blood unless freedom is achieved.

A new militant group, the Niger Delta Warriors, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
The militant group also called for the removal of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.
It warned that if the Federal Government failed to sack the duo within the 14 days, youths in the Niger Delta would embark on mass protests in major cities of the country, including Abuja.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Saturday, the spokesperson for the group, General Hart Bradford, said its position was in the light of the fight against corruption by the Federal Government.
Bradford said, “We are giving the President 14 days ultimatum to sack the SGF and the EFCC chairman, otherwise we shall have no option than to carry out mass protest in Abuja and other cities across the country until the SGF and EFCC chairman leave office.”
Bradford also warned the FG to stop denigrating the family of former President Goodluck Jonathan, noting that the probe of Mrs. Jonathan was a direct attack on the entire family.
